Collector Gemstones

Faceted Rare Species & Well-Formed Crystal Specimens

Exceptional rarities and oddities for the true gem lover.

One of our founder Mark’s main passions is rare collector gemstones. Over the past few decades traveling to source precious and semi-precious gems, Mark’s interest in the lesser known species has grown, and today rare collector gems is one of our areas of specialization.

While many of these species or varieties are unheard of by the general public, for avid gem and mineral collectors, the extremely limited availability of these rare gems makes them all the more enticing. We deal in faceted ‘gem-quality’ rare stones, fine well-formed crystals, and interesting inclusion specimens. We also love gemstones with unusual phenomena, such as chatoyancy (cats-eyes), asterism (stars), strong UV fluorescence, color-change, or tenebrescence. While the majority of these unusual stones end up in discerning private or museum collections, some have been thoughtfully used in fine jewelry as well.

We draw on our most enduring and trusted sources across the globe to bring you these rare stones, which are often overlooked by most gem dealers. Our collector gems are often found in only a single or handful of mining locations, and we are particularly passionate about the variety of rarities found in Mogok, Myanmar.

Rare gemstones are available in a vast range of colors, both rough and faceted, and can vary dramatically in their gemological properties. Whilst some species are suitable for jewelry use, it is important to note that some species are soft or brittle and are better suited for display collections.
